Whom does Southside Center of Hope serve?

We assist single women, pregnant women and women with children who have recently completed residential treatment. Girls arriving with their mother must be no older than 17; boys may be no older than 10.

How long is the average stay?

While there is no minimum length, most women stay six to eight months. We suggest a residence of 10 to 12 months.

Do residents have to pay to stay there?

Southside Center of Hope is a non-profit agency. Our services are provided free of charge to our residents.

Does Southside Center of Hope accept women receiving Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)?

We accept women currently on Suboxone or Vivitrol. Southside Center of Hope does not accept women taking methadone.

Do you provide job assistance?

We refer residents to one of our community partners for employment assistance after completing program Phase I.

Are program residents permitted to work or attend school?

Residents are permitted to work or attend school after completing program Phase I.

Do you assist with finding housing?

We refer residents to one of our community partners to apply for affordable housing. Because need exceeds demand, Southside Center of Hope does not guarantee that residents will be granted an affordable housing unit.

Do you provide daily meals?

We provide three daily meals.

Does Southside Center of Hope have private rooms?

Southside Center of Hope offers dormitory-style living. Occupancy varies depending on the room’s size. Each room has five to seven beds.

Can residents have visitors?

Southside Center of Hope is a private facility, and adult visitors are not allowed. Minor children and grandchildren (girls up to age 17 and boys up to age 10) are permitted to visit and to stay overnight on weekends.

Can residents stay out of the facility overnight?

Residents are not allowed to remain out of the facility overnight.

What happens if a resident relapses?

In the unfortunate event of a relapse, the resident must vacate the property immediately. If discharged for a relapse, the resident will be referred to a detox facility. Re-admittance to Southside Center of Hope is not guaranteed. Our resident handbook offers more information about our relapse policy.

Can residents have a car?

Residents are not permitted to have a personal vehicle while in the program.
