Recovery is an individual process, and there is no one path that will work for everyone. Do not listen to advice that hinders your recovery. Focus on the result, not the method, and don’t hold yourself back from practices that are helping you overcome addiction. Do what works for you. You must, however, make sure that your process is actually working. Be honest with yourself, and track which practices are helping you get better. Remember that it is your commitment to your process that will make it work. If your current method isn’t helping you make progress, you must try new strategies until you find something that does. Taking action to change is the most important part of recovery.
