2016 Legacy Gala

Blog1Thanks to everyone who helped make the Legacy Gala a huge success. More than 100 people turned out to honor the legacy of Sr. Therese O’Sullivan on September 29th at the Grand Ballroom.

Sr. Therese was honored for her life’s work at St. Martin de Porres House of Hope. The Judy Family Foundation was recognized for their generous support, and Angelia Holman was recognized as our first Distinguished Alumni. The gala also included a rousing performance from Harmony, Hope, and Healing, dinner, and a signed letter thanking Sr. Therese for her service from President Barack Obama!

Blog3Carol Marin, our key note speaker, spoke adoringly about her decades long history with Sr. Therese and St. Martin de Porres House of Hope. She even brought out an eye patch to emulate the late Sr. Connie Driscoll, who along with Sr. Therese founded St. Martin de Porres House of Hope in 1983.

The establishment of the Sister Therese O’Sullivan fund was announced, and more than $1,500 was raised to help St. Martin de Porres House of Hope recruit and retain professionally trained staff that ensure our residents have access to the best resources available.  The entire evening brought in more than $19,000!

Blog2With the continued generous support of our donors, we are confident that the legacy of Sr. Therese will continue to thrive for years to come! Thank you for commitment to St. Martin de Porres House of Hope.
